When I decided to buy a diamond ring I contacted him straight away. Buying such things are not so easy since you have to have a full confidence in the seller from the beginning to the end. Marc is one of the best jewelers I have ever dealt with. I have returned to him over and over again for jewelry/diamonds regardless of what others are offering. I originally purchased my three diamond ring in person with Marc in Antwerp a few years back and at the time he exceeded all of my expectations with the quality and price of the diamonds and the overall craftmanship of his hand made setting.
Recently, I worked directly with Marc over email to upgrade the original ring I purchased from him. He worked diligently with me to get the ring to and from the US, through both countries customs and kept me up to date with all the progress. Besides a few Custom delays, the process was easy and seamless. Once I received the final resetting of the ring, with added diamonds, I was blown off of my feet with again the quality of his work, the ring is amazing! My partner and I were in search of the perfect diamond and ring. I heard about Marc through a friend, made an appointment and went to see Marc in his Antwerp office. Marc's range of diamonds contacts within the diamond industry was extensive and impressive, we were very particular about the diamond that we wanted and Marc sourced it exactly. It is the perfect diamond.

 recently bought a pair diamonds from Marc Daems over the Internet
It turned out to be a very positive experience.
During a trip home I visited Marc’s office to purchase a pair of princess cut diamond earrings. As I had specific demands related to clarity, color and cut and as Marc pointed out it is even more difficult to find 2 stones to meet these requirements, he did not have such stones readily available but he promised to search for them on the diamond bourse.
Very quickly after my visit Marc already proposed me a pair of stones. I was not convinced that they were exactly what I wanted which Marc completely understood. Shortly afterwards Marc proposed a second pair about which he was very enthusiastic. At that moment I found it very difficult to decide as I was not able to see them. Marc went out of his way to provide me with pictures and all the information I requested.
I decided to trust his judgment and agreed to buy. After the money was transferred the diamonds were shipped to me by Malca Amit. This was done in a very quick and efficient way. I was continuously kept informed about the status of the shipment.
I was very excited when the diamonds arrived and they turned out to be very beautiful. I am very happy and glad I trusted Marc’s judgment.
Marc certainly knows diamonds and the business, he knows what is available and makes a huge effort to try and find what a customer wants. He reacts quickly and is always ready to provide feedback and information on whatever questions there are. Although he is a diamond wholesaler and I am just a private customer he made me feel that i was important too. It was a very positive experience and I highly recommend his service.

I corresponded with Marc for over 9 months before I actually purchased my diamond from him. Throughout this time, I was looking endlessly for a diamond in the states of comparable quality, but was unsuccessful. After giving Marc my specifications and price range, he gave me many options from which to choose. Then after changing my requirements, Marc was happy to offer me stones meeting those requirements (all the while happy to discuss my needs).
Unlike jewelers in the states, Marc never hassled me into buying a specific diamond, but would give his honest opinion based on his years of expertise in the diamond business. There wasn't one question/concern that Marc could not answer - even issues with customs and shipping in the USA. He remained in constant contact from my first email until I received the stone. I could always count on receiving emails within an hour during business hours. You can't get that kind of service anywhere!

I finally received my diamond today and it is absolutely stunning. For those of you comtemplating a purchase from Marc or are worried about purchasing from a distance----DON'T! I was cautious given the size of my purchase (a high spec 2 ct round brilliant) so Marc and I emailed back and forth and on the tail end of a business trip, I met Marc in person. He is the absolute nicest geniune person that I've met in the jewelery business. This is not to mention his thoroughness and attention to detail. Make no mistake, I'm not an easy customer and was very demanding in the specifications of the stone that I wanted. After meeting with Marc, I trusted him so much as I let him select my stone sight unseen and he did a magnificent job. He knew I wanted a top stone without compromise and he himself rejected many over a month timeframe before settling on the stone I ultimately purchased. Please, take it from a picky American, you will not go wrong buying from Marc. And the service and communication after the purchase continued to be top notch. My Belgian parcel arrived at my house this morning (Thursday) at 9:30 A.M.
I could never find such quality and craftsmanship here in the US. I really do appreciate all you've done for me, Marc. I've enjoyed the whole process right from the beginning with the E-mails, narrowing down my choice from your lists and pictures, and finally meeting you in person. That was an experience I will never forget. I thank you for all the patience you've shown with me and all my silly questions. It made my purchase very enjoyable and I've learned a lot about diamonds and international policies, too.
I must tell you that I hired a licensed gemologist for insurance purposes. Even with about 20 years in the diamond/gemstone business, the first word out of his mouth was "Wow." In all his experiences he has never appraised a tennis bracelet with such quality. He said that it is "of Tiffany quality. The appraisal was over 50% more than I paid.
I know that the hardest part of the whole process is wiring money overseas to some unknown bank with a name and address that is not even in English. I hope that I can someday help one of your prospective customers to overcome that hurdle. Maybe I can also allay someone's fears of doing business with you over the Internet. I will gladly tell them not to worry

I spent 3 months looking to buy a perfect diamond from an honest jeweller. What I ended up discovering is that the latter is harder to find. I finally decided that I would go out on a limb and trust Marc Daems since he has the best deals I could find anywhere.
Marc understands how difficult it is to take this leap of faith and so he made it 110 percent worth my while. Marc answered all my questions patiently and thoroughly. I bought a 1.22 carat E/IF diamond from Daems that was so beautiful that both my ring-maker and appraiser praised it. I spent a $10254 (shipping included) for the diamond and $450 to make the ring. The ring was appraised at $19000. My diamond arrived via Malca-Amit, a jewellry shipping company, in a tamper-proof package. I picked it up directly from the Malca-Amit office on 5th Avenue. Every diamond buyer needs to read up on the 4 C's, and then go to Marc Daems for an *exceptional* deal.

with a micro-film copy of the certificate. The HRD (www.hrd.be) seals it in this package when they
certify the diamond. This sealing process used by the HRD eliminatied any of my reservations about
buying a diamond sight unseen. The price was absolutely unbeatable as well. I saved at least
20-25% over most of the prices I could find on the web which are slightly better than my local jewler
was offering. Once again, I can't say enough good things about Marc and how smooth and easy

I found the Daems company over the net as I was looking for a 2 ct. loose round diamond for my wife. A 10 yr. anniverary present! Marc was one of the few diamond merchants from the Antwerp exchanges to answer my enquiries. He was always very professional and kind in helping me become a little knowledge able regarding diamonds. Also, he was very quick in response I would always find the answers to my questions the next day! I felt such comfort & trust with his knowledge and honesty that he was the only person I visited in Antwerp! He helped me picked out a stone with absolutly no pressure! I did a wire transfer to get the money to his account & left for Brussels...without even a receipt...unheard of in America!! I felt such confidence in him that I knew our agreement was enough. Comments: Buying a diamond from anyone is either asking for trouble or paying too much. But not by Marc of DAEMS BVBA BELGIUM ! I just received an HRD-certified D-VVS2 diamond from him with very good proportions and very good finish and it looks like the most beautiful diamond I have ever seen.  I had done a lot of shopping and research at the jewelry stores, both here locally (Austin, Texas) and in Los Angeles, and had surfed the Web for countless hours. I found (just like Jeff DiMattia, guest 18) that the local jewelers would have liked to empty my pockets right on the spot: one jeweler presented me a stone of the size I eventually bought from Marc, for about the same price: it was an H color SI1!  When I asked how much the same size stone, but of D-VVS2 quality would cost (the same exact stone I have now), he went to the back, did some calculations and came up with a price that was 45% higher than I ended up paying (on top of that, he was charging me sales tax, too)!  The Net has very many sites offering certified stones with prices. But, that's where Marc as a friend makes all the difference in the world.  He never pushes you to buy, answers to all  your e-mails patiently and diligently, and gives you a personal short course in the World of Diamonds.  After so many e-mails (I do not dare counting them, I now feel guilty of asking so, so many questions) Marc became a real friend and someone I could turn to with any question I had concerning diamonds or ring settings.  Even though in the beginning I never thought I would have ever sent such a huge sum of money overseas to a person I never met, that was in the end my least concern.  It was like helping out your best friend with money, without ever having to worry about getting it back.  I felt that I could trust Marc, but I have to mention that my relatives in Belgium paid him a visit and had personal contact with him. I am now sitting here looking at this most beautiful diamond, more beautiful I have ever seen even at Tiffany's or Cartier or at any other jeweler.  It's full of brilliance, sparkle and fire.  Tomorrow I'll bring it to the jeweler (a honest one, from what I can judge) where I have chosen a nice platinum mounting.  I can't wait to see the final ring.

I recently purchased a HRD certified 1.03 carat VS2 H round brilliant, with very good proportions and very good finish. The stone has excellant brilliance and fire just like Marc said it would. I did a lot of shopping both on the net and locally in South Florida. I looked at many stones both mounted and unmounted. Nothing I saw could compare to the quality of cut and finish for the stone I bought from Marc, at anywhere near the price. Marc answered all my questions and emails personally and there were more than 40. If you have not done business this way before, you might hesitate, especially about transferring several thousand dollars overseas. Do not worry. Marc will assist you in obtaining exactly what you want and you will save much money. Your stone will be delivered to your door, insured for 110%, by armored car and armed guard. The HRD certified stones are sealed at the lab, and are accompanied by a sealed microfiche of the certificate and a full sized copy in a nice folder. There is no question as to what you are getting. HRD is equivalent to GIA in their standards for grading diamonds. Overall I had a lot of fun purchasing my diamond this way and feel like I have made a new friend in the process. Comments: I am writing in this guest book, in hopes of helping others save time and money by taking a closer look at what Mr. Daems' has to offer you. I am skeptical about purchasing anything, much less diamonds, on the Internet, but I quickly began to feel that the local jewelers I visited were trying to take advantage of me. I merely started searching for more information about diamonds to educate myself. I used the net to learn all I could and Mr. Daem's website was one of the more insightful and informative places I visited. For example, I had questioned several jewelers prior, and Mr. Daems was the first person to mention that diamonds can have a "florescence" which can effect the color of a stone. I was amazed that no one even bothered to tell me about it. I still wasn't interested in purchasing a diamond over the Internet. I felt that with the information that I had gained from the Web, I could find a quality stone at a local jeweler's. This is where price comes into the picture. I had learned how to price stones, too. I discovered that jewelers in the United States were charging extremely high prices. Brokers gave me a fair bottom line but they added a hefty commission, which brought the price right back up. Let's face it, this is a business and everybody has to make money. From what I was seeing in the department stores and local jewelers nearly gave me a heart attack and I am only 30 years old. Thousands of dollars over priced for stones that were of low quality. I compared Mr. Daems' prices to those I had received from local jewelers and quickly decided that it would be in my best interest to purchase my stones from Mr. Daems. Still not completely satisfied I contacted every English speaking person in Mr. Daems' Guest book. Not everyone responded, but the ones that did told me their stories and more importantly told me that they were loyal customers, even now. This was not a quick decision, at all. I spent months collecting data and learning about diamonds. If I had a question, Mr. Daems would answer it. He was not rude or abrupt, nor did he make me feel as if he had better things to do. Finally, I told Mr. Daems which stones I wanted and he gave me a fair price. I was really nervous having to wire my funds overseas, but once again I was not let down. Within two days, an armored truck drove up to my place of employment and handed me a box containing my stones. This transaction was totally and completely professional from beginning to end. Mr. Daems takes care of everything for you. Most importantly, the stones were absolutely beautiful. Comments: We met Marc Daems over the internet through his web site while looking for an engagement diamond of about 1 carat. We had looked in Houston (our home town) and was not pleased with the quality or price. We discovered that Antwerp had the diamonds with the cut and clarity that we were looking for. Since we currently live in London we felt we could purchase our diamond in Antwerp ourselves! Don't kid yourself, unless you really know what you're doing and have ALOT of time there is no way a person could sort through the rif raf there and find the good reputable people. We personally met Marc in Antwerp to view chosen diamonds from an extensive list that included prices. After choosing 2 diamond we liked we asked that he hold them for a few days while we decided, which he did with no deposit. We again met Marc and purchased our diamond from him, but you must know that was after 36 E-mails (Marc counted them). Each and everyone was carfully answered with thought and honesty by Marc personally. After spending months looking for a wedding ring we are returning to have Marc make my ring!
